Making Terra-Cotta Warriors - Sept 16, 2011

Our alarm is set for 6:30 am so we can have showers and buffet breakfast before meeting our guide at 9 am; we're always awake before the alarm though.  The breakfast buffet is much better than the one in Beijing.  We have western and chinese food.  Asia hasn't been very adventurous with breakfast; she has toast with jam and a boiled egg.  No cereal and milk for us because the milk is way different than home -- thick and sweet.

Our first stop was at place where they make the warriors and lacquer furniture.  We had a guided tour.  Chris choose a terracotta warrior to buy - 1/3 size.  It's being shipped home on a slow boat from China and will take two to three months.  Now to find a place in our house for him -- he'll protect us.

We would've loved a life-size one!
